I don't know what you've been up to this week but I've been missing my little girl who started the fifth grade on Monday. She's my sewing buddy so I haven't had the heart to do much sewing without her. But when she came home yesterday, she asked what I accomplished at the machine. The look of disappointment was too much! So, I have been scolded by my "partner in fabric" and told to get back to work!
I asked her what she'd like me to be working on while she was away and she thought I should use some of the vintage trim I found at a local antique shop. I thought the Pink Fig patterns would be a fabulous way to display some of my gorgeous finds!
Here is one of my favorite projects using a vintage hand embroidered table runner with the Pink Fig Lydia Dress pattern.
The minute I saw this table runner at the bottom of an apple crate in the corner of a cluttered antique store, I immediately saw Amy Butlers Midwest Modern fabric. How adorable is this? And it gives new life to a once forgotten handmade item from a long time ago.
Do you have a little girl to sew for? I love the Pink Fig Pattern Series. Her directions are easy to follow and geared towards beginner level sewers. I have learned new techniques (how to use elastic thread to make your own shirred panels) that I have been able to carry over into other projects I've been working on. Give Pink Fig a try and save a little money this weekend!
Thanks for spending some time with me today! Feel free to forward this email on to any of your sewing friends!
